<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration device capable of generating cavitation equivalent to or better than before, the vibration device being smaller and suitable also for purifying water in a small capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration device 100 generating the cavitation in water includes a plurality of pillar-shaped magnetostriction elements 120, a non-magnetic fixture 130 fixing the plurality of the magnetostriction elements 120, and an exciting arrangement 150 applying an alternating magnetic field to the plurality of the magnetostriction elements 120.
