<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route selection method and a router device capable of accelerating route selection processing of packets and simplifying the management of route information. <P>SOLUTION: In a route selection method, an FCS inspection is conducted for received packets, the received packets are written in a buffer if no error is found in the FCS inspection, a route search is executed to obtain route information that indicates a route to be outputted from destination information contained in the received packets while the received packets are being written in the buffer, the route information obtained by the route search is appended to the packets written in the buffer while the received packets are being written in the buffer, the packets stored in the buffer are read out sequentially from the route information appended to the packets, and the transmission route for the packets read out from the buffer is switched to output the packets based on the route information read out from the buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
