The present invention provides a mobile terminal and an audio playing method therefor. The method comprises: the mobile terminal establishing a remote audio connection to a computing entity; via a distributed program interface of an audio decoder provided by the computing entity, the terminal remotely calling the audio decoder to perform audio data decoding of audio data-to-be-decoded, and receiving a stream of framed data returned by the computing entity. In the present invention, the audio service connection is established between the mobile terminal and the computing entity having an established wireless connection, the audio decoder of the computing entity implemented on the basis of a distribution is shared with the mobile terminal as a component; the audio decoding capability of hardware such as a CPU of the computing entity is practically acquired by calling remotely the audio decoder of the computing entity to work; and the audio is played by an audio player of the mobile terminal. This allows for improved audio playing performance of the mobile terminal, and reduced power consumption, without incurring additional user expense, or requiring installation of any additional client terminal software, thereby increasing ease of use.
