<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that sufficiently demonstrates changing performance of vertical and horizontal wind directions by extending an area of horizontal wind direction changing blades, and also improves changing performance by blocking hot air blown from an outlet in downward direction by an upper blade, and by preventing hot air fed from right and left ends of the upper blade from leaking upward. <P>SOLUTION: A vertical wind direction changing blade for changing air blown from the outlet of an indoor unit in vertical direction includes an upper blade 20 that is positioned adjacent to an outlet while the air conditioner is stopped. The upper blade 20 has a narrow part 20a located between both sidewalls of the outlet and a wide part 20b that is located on the top of the narrow part 20a during the stoppage of the air conditioner.
