ELECTRIC POWER MONITORING CONTROLLER AND BREAKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaker for performing a cut-off at a moment when a direct current of an allowed value or more flows through, and an electric power monitoring controller using such a breaker.

SOLUTION: A breaker 20a comprises: an electronic open/close switch 15 inserted in a direct current circuit through which direct current flows, so as to open or close the direct current circuit; a parallel mechanical open/close switch 16 connected in parallel with respect to the electronic open/close switch 15; a switch control circuit 14 for controlling an open/close time difference between the parallel mechanical open/close switch 16 and the electronic open/close switch 15; and a current detector 143 for detecting a magnitude of direct current flowing through the direct current circuit. When the current detector 143 detects a direct current of an allowed value or more, the switch control circuit 14 closes the parallel mechanical open/close switch 16 after the electronic open/close switch 15 is closed and a prescribed time passes.
