<p>The present invention provides a design support system capable of sufficiently figuring out other components that may become defective when altering the design of a component. The design support system is provided with a component name database (3); a relevant information database (7) which at least stores for each failure event the data including the names of tier-one components that have become defective and the names of tier-two components that have presumably affected or have received some effects from the defect of the tier-one components; a component network generating unit (8) which, on the basis of the data stored in the component name database (3) and the relevant information database (7), generates the data of a component network covering the relationship of components together with the names of the components; a component network database (9) which stores the component network data; and a component network diagram display control unit (10) which reads the data stored in the component network database (9) and displays on the screen display unit of a computer (1)a component network diagram based on the data.</p> |
