PURPOSE: A shock absorber device and a control method thereof are provided to improve steering stability and reduce contact noise through proper change a spring coefficient of a rebound spring according to the movement of a shock absorber. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber device comprises an operation tube(13), a piston rod(14), a supporting stopper(16), a contact stopper(15), a pneumatic rebound spring(17), and a pneumatic unit(20). The piston rod is moved up and down in the operation tube. The supporting stopper is installed in the piston rod. The contact stopper is installed in the operation tube to be faced with the supporting stopper. The pneumatic rebound spring is supported by the supporting stopper and compressed by rebound strokes. The pneumatic unit changes the air pressure of the pneumatic rebound spring and a spring coefficient thereof.
