A conveyor arrangement has a kick roller 22 proximate an outlet end of a first conveyor 12, and is used to separate items 24 from each other as they pass the outlet of the conveyor 12, in conjunction with an air knife 50. Also disclosed is a method, which does not necessarily feature an air knife. Also disclosed is a second apparatus and method in which a brush device (220, fig.2) has a number of downwardly directed brush elements (234,fig2) to brush items 24 carried on a conveyor into a desired distribution. The first and second inventions are both aimed at distributing items which may be stuck or clumped together, more evenly during transit. |
