An apparatus and a method for reducing a PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) of an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system are provided to prevent the collision with the pilot and the reservation tone by shifting the position of the reservation tone to be equal to the cycle shit of the pilot. The positions of the data and the reservation tone are determined by calculating the movement value of a subcarrier not to be overlapped with the detected pilot position by detecting the position of a pilot for each symbol according to the frame start(610,620,630). An impulse waveform is determined by rotating a phase of a complex value stored in a memory by using the determined movement value(640). The reduction value of the peak of average power ratio is calculated by using the phase rotated impulse waveform. The PARP of the output signal is reduced to the reduction value of the PARP(660). |
