PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a scanning backlight driving method thereof are provided to efficiently prevent degradation of screen brightness by stretching data of an input image in order to compensate sudden change of brightness. CONSTITUTION: An LCD panel(10) displays modulation data according to a frame frequency. A backlight light source generates light which is irradiated to the LCD panel. A scanning backlight controlling unit(14) calculates light duty of a PWM signal. A light source driver(15) synchronizes the frequency of the PWM signal to the frame frequency. |
