The adapter (4) has a fastening surface (12), and a base board and attaching units provided for fixing at a static fixed wall surface. Fastening holes (15, 16) are provided at a front end (14) of a bracket (13), where the adapter is free of thermal bridges and consists of metal, plastic or wood. An insulation insert is arranged for interruption or reduction of heat flow between the wall surface and a connection unit. The insert is made of an insulating material, plastic, wood, an inorganic foam material, an inorganic fiber material, cellulose-containing fibers. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening articles at walls.
