PURPOSE: An air-conditioner and communication method thereof are provided to mutually communicate data in the same communication mode by automatically changing the communication mode in a network. CONSTITUTION: A communication modem(200) is respectively connected to a first and a second unit. The communication modem establishes a communication mode according to the communication mode of the first unit. The communication modem transmits data and the first unit. The communication modem transmits data inputted by the first unit to the second unit in the communication mode of the first unit. The communication modem inputs the data inputted by the second unit to the first unit.
