Apparatus for continuously conveying and pre-heating a metal charge (13) inside a container (12) of a melting plant (11), comprising at least a channel (21) for conveying the metal charge (13), at least a hood (17) disposed above the conveyor channel (21) defining a tunnel and/or an expansion chamber (18), inside which at least part of the fumes exiting from said container (12) advance, and apertures (30) made in cooperation with lateral walls (23, 24) of said conveyor channel (21) to discharge the fumes. The conveyor channel (21) comprises activator means (35, 135, 235) that divert the fumes and/or delimit the zone occupied by the metal charge (13) of the conveyor channel (21), and that cooperate longitudinally with at least part of the conveyor channel (21).
