The present invention has, in order from the object side along the optical axis: a first lens group (G1) having a positive refractive power; a second lens group (G2) having a negative refractive power; a third lens group (G3) having a positive refractive power; and a fourth lens group (G4) having a positive refractive power. Power is varied by changing the air gap between each lens group. The fourth lens group (G4) has, in order from the object side along the optical axis: a lens component (La) having a positive or negative refractive power; a positive lens component (Lb); and a positive lens component (Lc) having a convex surface facing the object side. The following conditional expression (1) is satisfied: 0.00 < (Rc2 -Rc1) / (Rc2 + Rc1) < 1.00, where Rc2 is the radius of curvature of the surface on the image side of positive lens component (Lb), which configures the fourth lens group (G4) and has a convex surface facing towards the object side, and Rc1 is the radius of curvature of the surface on the object side of positive lens component (Lb), which configures the fourth lens group (G4) and has a convex surface facing towards the object side. |
