The present invention discloses a method for setting operation parameters for a mobile terminal, which includes: a correspondence table of network parameters and customized parameters is established, and the mobile terminal obtains the network parameters of the network where the mobile terminal currently locates; according to the network parameters, the mobile terminal looks up the correspondence table of the network parameters and the customized parameters, and obtains the customized parameters corresponding to the network parameters; the mobile terminal sets the operation parameters for itself according to the customized parameters. The present invention accordingly discloses a system for setting operation parameters for the mobile terminal. With the present invention, when the customized parameters of the operator network change, only the correspondence table of the network parameters and the customized parameters needs to be modified, thus avoiding the workload for modifying the source code of programs.
