<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change a power company with which a user makes a contract, and provide data on electric energy consumption or the like of the user. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric energy consumption data transmitting/receiving system 1, a data mediation system 2 receives from a smart meter 5 a transmission destination code, a data name to be transmitted and measurement data, extracts data indicated by the data name from the measurement data and transmits the extracted data to a power company server 3 indicated by the transmission destination code and a data application company server 4. The power company server 3 receives from the data mediation system 2 required measurement data in the data transmitted by the smart meter 5 in the house of a user who makes a contract for use of electric power. The data application company server 4 receives from the data mediation system 2 required measurement data in the data transmitted by the smart meter 5 in the house of the user who makes a contract for data provision.
