The electrode has a housing in which a chamber (8) is formed. An electrolyte (10) is arranged in the chamber. A potential forming element (3) is arranged in the chamber such that the electrolyte moistens the potential forming element. An electric conductor (1) contacts the potential forming element and derives the potential from the chamber. The electric conductor is formed from carbon fiber. A closure element (11) closes the chamber with the electrolytes and the potential forming element in a tight manner. The electric conductor is passed through the closure element. The potential forming element is made from metal salt e.g. Prussian blue and/or Prussian blue analog, and metal salt from silver and silver halide i.e. silver chloride. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrode.
