[Also in Division H2] A coupling connector comprises two members 14, 34, and an oval resilient sleeve 42 connected to the first member 34 and which yields under pressure to reduce its major diameter and increase its minor diameter, the second member 14, fitting into the sleeve, a lug 28, on the second member 14, latching into a recess 48 in the sleeve. The first and second members have circular cross-sections and to position the second member 14 in the sleeve, pressure is applied to the major diameter of the sleeve until this attains a substantially circular cross-section when the second member easily slides inside the sleeve until lugs 28 engage recess 48. The pressure is then released and the sleeve regains its original cross-section. |
