<p>The case (2) of a retractable lead (1) comprises a main body (21) and a grip (22). A reel (3) is rotatably supported in the main body (21) of the case (2) through a spiral spring (4) so that the rotational force is biased toward the reeling side. A brake trigger (5) is provided on the grip (22) so as to be able to be pushed in and to be slidable while being biased toward the push-back side. A brake arm (6) interlocked with the sliding motion of the brake trigger (5) is rotatably provided in the main body (21) of the case (2). The brake arm (6) rotates and engages with the reel (3) by the push-in operation of the brake trigger (5), thereby restricting the reel (3) from rotating toward the unreeling side of a lead (10).</p>
