<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a photoreceptor unit that employ a proximity charging method to maintain image quality, while suppressing wear of a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier having a surface on which a toner image is formed, and a charging part that charges the surface of the image carrier. The charging part includes a potential generating part that generates a bias potential, a plurality of charging rollers each having a different roller diameter from each other, and selection means for selecting a charging roller used for applying a bias potential to the image carrier from among the plurality of charging rollers based on print quality required for an image formed from the toner image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
