Solid acid catalyst for manufacturing 1,3-??? ? Method of preparing thereof

PURPOSE: A solid acid catalyst for fabricating 1,3-PROPANEDIOL(PDO) and a method for fabricating the same are provided to improve yield by controlling the acidity of the solid acid catalyst and bronsted acid site-Lewis acid site. CONSTITUTION: A solid acid catalyst for fabricating 1,3-PDO carries platinum in a sulfated zirconia(SO_4-ZrO_2) carrier. The carried amount of platinum is in a range between 1 and 3 weight% of the total amount of the catalyst. The amount of sulfate ions in the sulfated zirconia is in a range between 6 and 10 weight% of the total amount of the carrier. The zirconia of the sulfated zirconia is a tetragonal crystalline structure. The ratio of a Lewis acid side with respect to the bronsted acid site of the catalyst is in a range between 4 and 5.
