PURPOSE: A method for operating a computer is provided to reduce power consumption of a server by reducing voltage/operation frequency of a CPU of a server in an idle state. CONSTITUTION: Server state information is received from a server(S1). The server state is discriminated according to the server state information(S2). If the server state is not in peak time, application of voltage/frequency scaling about the server is discriminated(S3). The power consumption of the server is predicted(S4). The power consumption value of the server is calculated from the server status information.
