A thread-monitoring device comprises a series of steel strips hung from the threads, and resting against one of a pair of contact bars connected in a circuit with an indicator. In one embodiment the strips rest against the bar comprising spaced conductors 12, 14 of which one (12) is connected in parallel with a conductor 11 of the other bar. If the thread breaks or slackens unduly the strip falls onto contact 11 and completes the indicator circuit through support 24. If the thread is tensioned excessively the strip is raised so that it engages conductor 12 and the stop 25. In an alternative embodiment the strisps are supported on the bar 11, 13 which engages the slots 28. The tension at which the device responds may be altered by adjusting the height of one or both bars. or adjusting the spacing of eyes 7, 23. |
