PURPOSE: A bovine muscle-specific biomarker and a specific primer set are provided to identify bovine gene by parts. CONSTITUTION: A bovine muscle-specific biomarker contains RDM1 gene. The expression level of the cell differentiated from shank to muscle is higher than the expression to muscle from other parts. RDM1 gene contains a base of sequence number 3. A primer set for detecting the biomarker contains a pair of sequence numbers 11 and 12. The biomarker is used for real-time PCR.
