PURPOSE: A carbazole compound is provided to have excellent carrier transportability and wide band gap, thereby using as an electroluminescent core material, a host material for electroluminescent layer, or a material for a transport layer suitably. CONSTITUTION: A carbazole compound is in chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R^1-R^4 is respectively and independently selected from hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl group, phenyl group, and a tolyl group. R^5 is a C6-12 aryl group. R^6-R^13 is respectively and independently one selected from hydrogen, a C1-4 alkyl group, and a C6-12 aryl group, Ph is a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group, and X is sulfur atom or oxygen atom.
