Region recognition means (30) recognizes a region composed of a plurality of detection spots that has detected a person or an object, from amongst the detection spots. Traveler movement establishing means (44) determines the direction in which the recognized region is moving. A signal for opening a door panel (12) is outputted to a door controller (34) only in a case where the direction of movement of the recognized region is towards the door panel (12).
