<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that forms an excellent color shift detection pattern without the occurrence of wave formation. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus identifies the occurrence of wave formation based on a detection output after the detection of an edge of a misregistration detection pattern by a sensor; if the occurrence of wave formation is identified, the image forming apparatus corrects an image pattern of the misregistration detection pattern, corrects the wave formation, and carries out misregistration correction control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
