PURPOSE: An array substrate for a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device is provided to form a common line made of low-resistance metallic materials, thereby minimizing a change of common voltages of a central portion and an edge of a display area. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of gate lines(205) are extended in a first direction and made of low-resistance metallic materials. A plurality of data lines(230) are extended in a second direction and made of low-resistance metallic materials. The data lines cross the gate lines respectively to define pixel areas. Each pixel area is connected to the gate lines and the data lines. A pixel electrode(255) of a plate shape contacts a drain electrode(236) of a thin film transistor.
