PERSON COUNTING DEVICE, PERSON COUNTING METHOD, AND PERSON COUNTING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person counting device, a person counting method, and a person counting program that perform person detection faster with higher precision even when a plurality of persons are close to one another in an input image or when a plurality of persons causes occulusion.

SOLUTION: The person counting device includes a person presence region extraction part 104 which performs person detection on an input image and extracts a region where persons are present; a person presence state estimation part 105 which estimates a presence state of persons from a person presence region extraction result; a partial detector selection part 106 which selects a kind of a partial detector to be used for person counting based upon a person presence state estimation result; a partial detection processing part 107 which performs partial detection processing for detecting a part of a person from partial detector information; and a person counting part 109 which finds the number of the persons in the input image from a partial detection processing result, and can perform the person counting processing faster with higher precision with less misdetection than conventional techniques which use the partial detector for the whole input image.
