Provided is an illumination device which can use the larger area of the main front face of a planar light-emitting panel as a light-emitting face. An illumination device (1) is provided with: a flat plate-shaped light-emitting panel (10) which comprises a main front face (11) and a rear face (12), and comprises a light-emitting face (13) on the main front face (11) side; a panel support (30) for supporting the light-emitting panel (10); and a support joining part (20) which is attached to the rear face (12) of the light-emitting panel (10). The support joining part (20) is joined to the panel support (30) and the light-emitting panel (10) is supported by the panel support (30).
