<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-flute reamer and a cutting insert therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-flute reamer includes: a cutting part having a forward end and a rearward end; and a chip flute with a chip gash opening; and the cutting insert mounted on the cutting part. A leading edge is formed at an intersection between a top surface and a radially-outward side surface, and a front edge is formed at an intersection between the top surface and a forward side surface.
