<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for lighting a high-pressure discharge lamp in which illuminance of a lamp unit is hard to be lowered in the lamp unit formed by especially mounting the high-pressure discharge lamp on a reflecting mirror. <P>SOLUTION: After starting discharge of a lamp, the constant current control is performed so that a lamp current becomes 4A (S13). When a lamp voltage becomes 50 V (S14: YES), a step is moved to the constant power control at a power value of 200 W (S14: YES, S15). Then, when 120 seconds pass from starting discharge of the lamp (S16: YES), the lamp current is increased up to a rated current (S17) and the constant power control is performed at 250 W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
