PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanger which can safely hang and hold a long structure such as an electric pole, and a long structure hanging method using the hanger.SOLUTION: A hanger for hanging a long structure such as an electric pole P includes a cylindrical net body 10 which is arranged in such a manner as to surround the periphery of the electric pole P and which has an upper portion connected to a wire rope Y. The net body 10 comprises a mesh 11 which is structurally contracted in a width direction along with vertical extension thereof. In addition, the electric pole P is hung by means of the steel hanger 1.
