<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the directivity of an antenna while making an extending direction of a slot line parallel with a normal direction of a substrate end surface on which an antenna opening portion exists. <P>SOLUTION: A tapered slot antenna comprises a dielectric substrate 1; a metallic thin film 2 formed on the dielectric substrate 1; a slot 3 formed on the metallic thin film 2; and a tapered portion 4a formed on the metallic thin film 2, continues to one end of the slot 3, and made from a notch gradually expanding slot width in the extending direction of the slot 3. A border line between the tapered portion 4a and the metallic thin film 2 is regulated by hyperbolic tangent function curves. The extending direction of the slot 3 is same as a normal direction of a substrate end surface of the dielectric substrate 1 which becomes an antenna opening portion 5, and the two hyperbolic tangent function curves for configuring the tapered portion 4a are asymmetry about a center axis of the slot 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
