<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a time zone in which an external buffer can be stopped, by aggregating time for an ONU to sleep. <P>SOLUTION: In an OLT in a PON system in which a plurality of ONUs are connected to a station side device on one to one basis through a logical link, and the plurality of ONUs perform sleep processing at the terminal of the logical link, sleep transition start is notified to the ONU determining sleep transition, and the ONU sleeps for a prescribed time by the notification. The sleep control method has a sleep start time adjusting and processing procedure in which a notification time for sleep transition start of an ONU is determined, and when the notification time is reached, notification of sleep transition start to the ONU is permitted, and a sleep transition determining and processing procedure in which whether or not decision about sleep transition permitted to the ONU is being continued or not is confirmed, when the decision about sleep transition is being continued, start of sleep transition is notified, and when the decision about sleep transition is stopped, start of sleep transition is not notified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
