PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device with the same are provided to reflect light emitted from a light emitting diode to a first side and a side to guide the light to a light guide plate, thereby minimizing light loss. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate is arranged in parallel with a light emitting diode. A bent reflecting sheet(160) is arranged on a lower part of the light guide plate. The reflecting plate corresponds to the light emitting diode. The reflecting sheet includes the following units. A first surface(161) contacts a lower side of the light guide plate. A side(162) is bent downward from the first side. A second side(163) is bent inward from the side.
