<p>Provided are: a method for preventing dissolution of copper and zinc from a copper alloy piping member such as a valve or a pipe joint, which uses a copper alloy such as bronze or brass that has excellent castability, machinability and economic efficiency and has high antibacterial effect that cannot be achieved by other materials directly to a piping member, while suppressing dissolution of copper and zinc from the copper alloy piping member; the copper alloy piping member; and a film forming agent. In this method for preventing dissolution of copper and zinc from a copper alloy piping member such as a valve or a pipe joint, a film is formed from an organic substance that is composed of an unsaturated fatty acid on at least a liquid contact portion of a copper alloy piping member, so that both copper and zinc in the surface layer of the liquid contact portion of the copper alloy piping member are covered and thus dissolution of copper and zinc is prevented.</p> |
