<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a plurality of print heads to have the same operating temperature as much as possible when air cooling is used. <P>SOLUTION: A printer frame 16 supports a print unit 22 having a plurality of print heads 48, and the print heads 48 are arranged in a substantially horizontal and transverse direction orthogonal to a transport direction of a record carrier 12. A coupling unit 32 is positionally fixed on the printer frame 16, and air can be supplied to a distributor 24 via the coupling unit 32.
