<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component collation method and a component mounting system capable of efficiently collating components at low costs. <P>SOLUTION: Information on arranging component kind of components is specified based on a specified slot position, and reel identification information at the slot 23 is read based on the taught slot position information. Information on reading component kinds of the component is specified based on the reel identification information, so as to collate the reading component kind information with the arranging component kind information.
