<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental measurement apparatus automatically specifying the kind of tissue, calculating the actual thickness of the tissue, and displaying the results of them to solve the problem that an OCT (optical coherence tomography) dental measurement apparatus recognizing, specifying, and color displaying a surface of tissue to be measured or a boundary surface between a plurality of tissues based on a signal strength peak in a two-dimensional OCT signal which is not capable of specifying the kind of the tissue automatically, only displays a two-dimensional image of an optical distance between the signal strength peaks, and requires an operator to specify the tissue and calculate an actual thickness of the tissue. <P>SOLUTION: The dental measurement apparatus includes: a unit for obtaining a one-dimensional OCT signal in a depth direction from a tooth tissue surface or periodontal tissue surface; a unit for detecting a signal strength peak position of the OCT signal, corresponding to the surface and back surface of the tissue to be measured or the boundary surface between different tissues; a unit for finding the optical distance between two peak positions based on a difference between the two peak positions; a unit for specifying tissue between the signal strength peaks based on the distribution of signal strengths around one or both of the two signal strength peaks; a unit for selecting a refractive index of the specified tissue; a unit for finding the actual thickness of the tissue based on the optical distance and refractive index; and a unit for displaying the actual thickness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
