MELTING FURNACE FOR GASIFYING WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace for gasifying waste that prevents clinker from adhering on an in-furnace wall face.

SOLUTION: In the vertical-type melting furnace for gasifying the waste: a high-temperature combustion zone is formed on a coke bed where coke is deposited on a furnace bottom; the waste casted from an upper part of the furnace is deposited on the high-temperature combustion zone to form a waste layer, and the waste is thermally decomposed and gasified on the waste layer; and a thermal-decomposition residue of the waste is melted on the high-temperature combustion zone. The furnace includes: a pressing member 5 disposed movably forward and backward from a furnace wall toward the inside of the furnace on a position above a tuyere 4 for supplying an oxygen-containing gas into the furnace on the waste layer; and a gas jetting device 5A for jetting gas from an end on an in-furnace side of the pressing member.
