<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new anion exchange-type block copolymer that has high anion exchange capacity, is excellent in water resistance, especially water resistance under water at 80°C, and has favorable moldability; and to provide an anion exchange membrane that contains the anion exchange-type block copolymer. <P>SOLUTION: The block copolymer consists of: a polymer block (A) comprising an aromatic vinyl compound unit that has an anion exchange group; and a polymer block (B) comprising an aromatic vinyl compound unit that does not have an ion exchange group.
