<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous sheet printing apparatus that can improve accuracy for detecting sheet jam regarding the continuous sheet printing apparatus that performs sheet conveyance of high speed and high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A jam detector includes an instrument for comparing an upper limit and a lower limit of operation amount that are predetermined to determine failure in conveyance of a recording medium 50 with operation amount obtained in a compensator 82.
