The method involves detecting a current traffic condition by receiving a transmitted traffic data from vehicles and processing the traffic condition and the current state of a light signal system (1) by a control device. A feedback is provided such that the optimal response time points transmitted by a light signal system controls a signal light phase assistant of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a light signal system with a control device.
