<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer for a thrust roller bearing that hardly generates distortion and is excellent in roundness and function of guiding a roller, and to provide a thrust roller bearing. <P>SOLUTION: The retainer 34 includes a ring part 50, a first members 40 having a plurality of columns 51 extending outward from the ring part 50 in the radial direction of the ring part 50 and located with a gap in the circumferential direction of the ring part 50, a plurality of arc-like second members 41, and a plurality of bolts 42. Each of the second members 41 is fixed only on an outer end face in the radial direction of one column 51.
