<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing occurrence of flicker that may be generated by rotation driving of a rotation fluorescent plate. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes: a solid light source 11 that emits excitation light; a rotation fluorescence plate 13 that converts the excitation light into fluorescent light; liquid crystal optical modulation devices 30R, 30G, and 30B that modulate the light from the rotation fluorescence plate 13; a projection optical system 50 that projects modulated light onto a screen SCR; and a control device 60. The control device 60 controls the solid light source 11 and the rotation fluorescence plate 13 so as to satisfy any one of relation expressions: A=B; A=2B; and ¾A-B¾≥20 and ¾A-2B¾≥20 when the pulse width modulation control frequency of the solid light source 11 is A [Hz] and the rotational frequency of the rotation fluorescence plate 13 is B [Hz]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
