<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can prevent allophone from being generated at the start of steering while reducing feeling of being caught and preventing too much stress from being generated in an engagement part between a rack shaft and a pinion shaft. <P>SOLUTION: A circumferentially extending annular groove 41 is formed on the outer circumferential surface 31a of a support yoke 31 being a constitution member of a rack guide and an annular elastic member 42 projecting diametrically outward beyond the outer circumferential surface 31a is mounted in the annular groove 41. The elastic member 42 is now configured to have a diametrical thickness T1 along the axial direction of the rack shaft and a diametrical thickness T2 along the width direction of the rack shaft, wherein T1 is larger than T2, and to abut the inner circumferential surface 33a of a housing part 33 and the bottom surface 41a of the annular groove 41 along the entire circumference of the elastic member 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
