The present invention relates to a novel usage of spikenard extract, and more particularly, to a composition for preventing and treating prostate cancer containing spikenard organic solvent extract. The composition for treating prostate cancer, according to the present invention, effectively suppresses the growth of prostate cancer cells and induces apoptosis, and thus can be effectively used for treating and preventing prostate cancer.
