A jacking mechanism (10) for industrial equipment includes an insert (12) securable in a casing hole (18) of a first casing half (20) of an item of industrial equipment and a jacking bolt (24) insertable in the insert (12). The jacking bolt (24) includes a jacking bolt thread (26) meshable with an insert thread and a bearing tip (34) secured to the jacking bolt (24). Advancing the jacking bolt (24) through the insert (12) brings the bearing tip (34) into contact with a second casing half (32) thus moving the first casing half (20) relative to the second casing half (32). A jacking system for industrial equipment includes a plurality of jacking mechanisms configured to evenly change a gap between the first casing half (20) and the second casing half (32). |
