PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for eliminating odorous compounds are provided to improve the speed and the efficiency of an elimination process with respect to the odorous compounds by increasing the generation of radicals from the irradiation of ultrasound waves. CONSTITUTION: A method for eliminating odorous compounds includes the following: A decomposing reaction accelerating material is introduced into an aqueous solution containing odorous compounds. Ultrasound waves are irradiated to the aqueous solution in order to accelerate the oxidation decomposing reaction of the odorous compounds. The decomposing reaction accelerating material is a gas or volatile gasification material. The gas is one of inert gas, gas containing oxygen, gas containing hydrogen, or a mixture thereof. The volatile gasification material is a material containing a chlorine group or a material containing phenol.
